My Songwriter's Journey as Traveling the Nodal Journey

All the work I’ve been doing with clients and Workshop participants on the astrological Nodal Journey compels me to offer my own experience as an example. Because when I tell people that the themes of your North Node are always going to be way out of your comfort zone, I’m not only sharing astrological wisdom passed down from thousands of years of research and documentation, I’m also speaking from my own direct experience!

My North Node is in the Sign of Aries (the warrior, fearless and self-reliant). Which means that my South Node is in the Sign of Libra (the diplomat, always concerned with group harmony, doing everything to not rock the boat). In other words, striving for balance and doing things in cooperation with others is my comfort zone; I’ve spent lifetimes making sure that everyone else is okay.

So what feels utterly terrifying to me—the unfamiliar territory I’m meant to traverse in this lifetime—is putting myself out there, on my own, courageously and confidently.

The Libra - Aries oppositional axis, going from cooperative to independent, shares the “Personality” theme. This is all about the very definition of who we are.

And these Signs of Libra and Aries happen to be placed on my Birth Chart in the 6th and 12th Houses, respectively. This is the axis with the theme of Awareness—going from the Practical to the Spiritual. Meaning increasingly letting go of the 3D day-to-day material world and moving into the ethereal, transcendent realms of the otherworldly.

Looking back over the years with the astrological lens, I can clearly see that these themes have played out in my life in various ways. Most recently, a prime example is in the domain of my own voice. As mentioned earlier this year, when I “came out” of the Songwriter’s Closet, it was on the occasion of releasing my first song, “This Holy Breath” as culmination of my Songwriter’s Journey with the Brothers Koren.

Now, I am on the verge of releasing my second song and I’m facing that terror in the face of vulnerability, all over again! Here’s a super-short clip of me sharing a little bit about that to a group within the Brothers Koren community…

Ahhhh… it feels outrageously daunting but at the same time, absolutely RIGHT. Not right as in “right vs. wrong;’ rather, the unquestionably right thing to do for the sake of growth and evolution. And—right as in contributing towards the healing of humanity in just one small and humble act.

And so, on that note: Please be on the lookout for my new song, “Lyres in the Trees,” scheduled for release on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, anywhere/everywhere you stream your music!
